"In December 1940, a three-night sustained bombing raid caused devastation to the city and its surroundings, but the peak of the bombing occurred from 1st to 7th May 1941."
"In this blitz, 681 Luftwaffe bombers dropped 850 tonnes of high explosive bombs and 112,000 incendiary (fire) bombs in what was thought to be the heaviest bombing attack made on Britain during the War."
